i’m so excited to finally share these photos with you! honestly, i was so proud of myself for throwing such a lovely affair, as everything went according to plan – the ice cream social theme was a hit, the weather was beautiful {although the wind was a bit rude}, zoey was the perfect hostess and we were surrounded by people we love. my goal was to have a party that was simple and crafty, with diy details. we threw blankets on the grass, asked people to bring lawn chairs, listened to oldies and ate ice cream. what could be better than that?!
details
chalk menu/signage – laura of mystics and mint
zoey’s dress – a gift from grandma dooley
my dress – urban outfitters
happy birthday banner – handmade with cardstock and yarn
blankets, glassware, lace tablecloths - thrift finds
streamer back drop – handmade by daddy
cereal tub – courtesy of our friend stephanie
cupcake – sweet arleens
favors – sugar cones dipped in chocolate and sprinkles. other materials – card stock, yarn, cellophane
invite {not shown} – handmade with cardstock. lettering printed from computer
photography – becky bet-eivaz
besides the ice cream “bar”, we served root beer and orange soda floats in mason jars. we also provided light snacks for the kiddos – melon balls, goldfish crackers and cheese cubes. for the adults – veggies and chips + dip.
cheers to a successful 1st birthday party!
and now, i must get to work planning taylor’s 12th…

Such a beautiful moment in time! And good work mama!
I was so excited when I saw that this post was up!!! :) So adorable!!!! I LOVE the picture where clearly Zoey is not impressed with that little boy touching her shoulder and going for whatever she has in her hands! Did she really hate the cupcake or was that a bit of sarcasm?! :)
Looks like a wonderful day!!!!!
