the style // thanksgiving

blouse – marshall’s // pants – free people // shoes – nine west // clutch – thrifted
necklace – clyde’s rebirth

{what i wore to thanksgiving dinner.}

i know i’m a few days late, but…
i’m thankful for my husband, my kids, our health, our family {near and far}…and elastic waist bands.

also, starbucks, the ability to fast forward through commercials, and dry shampoo.

but mostly for the things i mentioned first.

;)

hello, fall.

dress – everly via stitchfix // necklace – clydes rebirth // booties – old navy

finally…tights weather!  and although i’m not convinced we won’t have a few 90 degree scorchers before the month is over, i’m pumped that fall is basically here.  we haven’t turned the air on once this week and leaving the windows open at night provides us with the perfect amount of cool for getting cozy under the sheets.  of course, now i’m feeling a little pressure to get the fall decor out!  and whatever will we be for halloween??  it looks like i may have to take a trip on over to pinterest for some inspiration.

maxi dress – target // vintage coach bag – garage sale // sandals – aldo // necklace – clydes rebirth

some days you wear a flowy maxi dress to work. and just when you think that’s about as exciting as your day is going to get…your 11 month old starts walking. i’m talking full on, catching her balance, not holding my hand, walking down the sidewalk walking.

crazy, bittersweetness.

zoey and i are headed back to IL tomorrow.  deep breath.  normally i’d be pumped, but this time i’m a little stressed and apprehensive.  i’m terrified that zoey will be the child from hell.  that she’ll do that back arching thing the entire flight.  that she won’t sleep.  that peekaboo forest just won’t cut it.  terrified.

SO.  today i need you.  i need your advice, thoughts + tips for travelling alone with a little baby.  for example, what’s the best seat for us – aisle or window?  got any good app suggestions?  pull out the big guns, ladies.

{our red hair and blue eyes can only get us so far…}

okay, GO!

ps.  pleeeeease enter ashley’s giveaway.  please.  it ends today.  thank you, kindly.

last friday

blouse + bag + shoes – urban outfitters // top + jeans – local boutique // necklaces – rose bowl flea + clyde’s rebirth

{i wore this outfit last friday. casual friday.}

most days, i wear trousers and a blouse to work. borrrriiiiing. other days, i get fancy and throw on a dress or a skirt and flit around the office like i’m a woodland fairy. on those days, i have every intention to get home and have the husband snap a few photos in the amazing late afternoon light. but what i want to happen and what really happens are two different things. usually, i pick zoey up from school and she’s cranky and clingy, hungry, and in desparate need of a bath and a tranquilizer. cue: tshirt and sweat pants. i always hold onto a little bit of hope that once she’s asleep, i’ll slip back into my adorable outfit; however, wine and couch always win – my cute outfit long forgotten.

so that’s why i rarely have weekly outfit posts. in case you were wondering.

about the outfit…i really love this one. lately, i’ve been making an effort to mix and match more…colors, patterns, textures. things that don’t go are my fave. and not to say that this outfit is genius, but for me…it was different. more colorful, more interesting. i’m glad zoey was able to hush her fuss long enough for me to share it with you.

plus…i’m wearing a clyde’s rebirth necklace, by merl. oh, you don’t have one? hmmmm.

oh sweet friday // vol 21

usually my oh sweet friday post is full of instagram snapshots and links from around the web.

today, however…i’m only sharing two links…

this one and this one

both posts are reminders that there are many ways to give during the holiday season {any season, really.}

it’s easier than you think!
mark and i recently donated clothing and shoes to the salvation army…

…and…

the items i’m wearing in this post were purchased at a thrift store that backs the arc foundation of ventura county – a nonprofit organization that supports individuals with developmental disabilities.
{buying second-hand is smart!}

whether you donate food, money, clothing, or your time…it’s important to remember those less fortunate.

enjoy your christmas eve eve!

fashion kismet

vintage dress/scarf – mo vintage on etsy, vintage necklace – dear golden vintage, boots – madewell

i could kiss merl kinzie for finding this lovely vintage dress and selling it in her shop.  and then kiss myself for snatching it up before anyone else did.
as much as i had.to.have.it…the beauty you see above, hung in my closet for months…with the intention of being hemmed before wearing.
but last friday morning, i said “to hell with hemming it!” and i slipped it on.  then the boots, then the gorgeous vintage necklace from dear golden vintage.  (lauren, i don’t know you well enough to kiss you, so you’re in the clear.)
…it all came together so perfectly (lots of compliments at work) and i felt so…young ali macgraw.  can’t you see her wearing this?
it was fashion kismet. (did i just make that up?  fashion kismet? that’s a good blog name.)

turns out…pretending to be someone else, makes taking pictures of myself with a tripod in my side yard for all my neighbors to see and then posting the photos on the internet…okay.

**********************************************************

btw…all the items i blogged about last week…are for sale in the shop!
go check it out – barefootandvintage on etsy.

ps…it’s MP’s bday, today!  taylor and i are treating him to a nice dinner this evening, followed by a stop at our favorite frozen yogurt place.
and pps…my bday is on sunday!

giveaway – clyde’s rebirth

…especially when there’s [potentially] something in it for meee-eeee!

listen up party people!

the lovely and talented merl over at clyde’s rebirth, got together with the adorable morgan of morgan and lua and put together this fantastic, amazing, makes me drool (half with lust, half with jealousy) fall lookbook!

in case you don’t already know, merl has a vintage shop called mo vintage. AND a jewelry shop called clydes’s rebirthon etsy, of course.

now that you’ve checked out the lookbook and the shops…

…go enter her $100 giveaway.  do it.

i am.

because i am no fool.

and i plan to win.

(fingers and toes crossed.)

merl, love ya darlin’.

you done good.

just me and my couch. woo hoo.

this afternoon, i had a bowl of cereal for a snack.

just a second ago, i got up to get a glass of water and put my foot in the bowl.  yeah, i have milk all over the bottom of foot now.

that’s about as wild as it’s gonna get tonight, folks!

hope you’re having a lovely weekend.

i should have an etsy update for you on monday!

xx, paige

ps!!  one of my favorite things about october…syfy and amc show horror flicks

all

weekend

long.

for the whole month!!  i love horror films.  even if they are made for tv, low budget, big screen rejects.

wearing…merona dress – thrifted. belt/scarf – thrifted, vintage.  the most amazing vintage boots ever – from merl over at mo vintage on etsy.

little. yellow. sticky.

something you should know about me…

i’m forgetful and absentminded and even though i make lists, i forget about them and often find yellow sticky notes stuck in random places.  in the pages of a book, on the floor of my car, in my wallet, stuck to the back of another list…

ultimately, this causes the opposite of organization.  i end up overwhelmed and unnecessarily stressed.

i stress myself out.  who does that?!  i do.

my point is this…

i need to set my priorities for the week and stick with it.  (no pun intended.)

as i mentioned before, taylor starts school in a few weeks and i like to keep him on a pretty strict schedule.  when we have a schedule, things run smoothly.  when things run smoothly, mommy is happy.

so something has to give…i can’t possibly bust my ass every day after work to get home, take photos, edit them, and write a post…all in between homework, dinner, going for a run, or any other necessary errands and house stuff.

i’m sure most of you can’t relate (to the kid thing) and that’s okay!  we all get busy though, with or without kids.  i’m not more busy because i have a little one, i just don’t have as many hours in the day for blogging and picture-taking.  pout.

all that being said, i may not have time to post daily outfits once school starts.  morgan said it’s okay.  she said maybe i can just do weekend outfit posts.  morgan also said that the stucco background is very fashion forward and that all the biggest fashion photographers and models should start using it as their background and name paige/barefoot & vintage as their inspiration.

okay, she didn’t say that last part.

but she did say this…

“stucco IS fashion.”
-morgan of morgan and lua.

morgan – please note that i moved to a different area of my “yard”.  the stucco has a more rustic feel, if you will.

i guess i’m just hoping (when i cut back) that i won’t lose any of you.  i’d like to think that my regular followers like me for me and not just because i have undeniably amazing style and wear like…the coolest, most sought after, vintage items. and i’m modest and down to earth to boot.

on the other hand (i’m about to name drop again),  merl calls me paige “false alarm” pitzer.  which simply means, i say all this now because i’m preparing everyone for worst case scenario.  in reality, i probably won’t stop posting every day and all of this will have been for nothing.

possibly just to keep you on your jeffrey campbell toes.

i think you get what i’m saying.  it’s more about me not stretching myself too thin.  after all, my blog/my shop is supposed to be my hobby.  the minute it starts feeling like a chore, is the minute i need to step away.

how do you juggle work, school, kids, husbands, boyfriends, friends, blogging, outfits, etc??  because sticky notes aren’t working for me…

thanks for your continued support…i appreciate you all!

ps.  i’m retiring the skirt.  i’ve worn it here, here and here.
