zoey wren – 2 months

our little zoey…

*has grown out of {most of} her newborn clothing
*has taken a liking to her pacifier
*still won’t eat from a bottle
*loves her vibrating bouncy chair
*isn’t as fussy
*is putting herself to sleep {without mommy or daddy holding and rocking}
*smiles a lot
*is starting to make laugh-like sounds when i talk silly to her
*is drooling and blowing bubbles
and of course…hitting all the developmental milestones.

she’s still quite tiny, though!  weighing in at 9 lbs, 13 oz and 21 1/2 in long.  petite little thing, huh?

we are so smitten.  she is an absolute joy!

7 weeks

little zoey is 7 weeks today!

*she’s more alert, smiling so much, loving her reflection in the mirror, occasionally holding a rattle, putting herself to sleep {!!} and cooing at me.

*i can’t get enough of her cheeks, i’m obsessed with her yawns, and her sweet but infrequent smiles melt my heart.

*every time she wakes up from a nap i smile at her and whisper hello.  as soon as she blinks the sleep out of her big blue eyes and realizes it’s me…she flashes the biggest grin.  her little nose even scrunches a bit.
i die.

*she’s head over heels for her daddy – listening intently when he talks, staring at him with love and curiosity.  adorable.

*her little brother loves it when she hiccups and asks to hold her every chance he gets.

*what we thought was possibly colic turned out to be just a bad week.  ever since, she’s been so good!  of course she gets fussy every now and again, but for the most part i can anticipate what she needs before the fussiness turns to earth shattering cries.  i said for the most part.

*our only major challenge is that she will not take a bottle.  definitely not from me, but not even from her daddy!  we’ve tried breast milk and formula, two different types of bottles, and even sneak attacks {slipping the bottle in her mouth when she least expects it}, but nothing works!

i guess we’ll just keep trying…

she’ll figure it out.

right?

ps.  i started writing this post at 230.  it is now 1005.  we had a baby meltdown, followed by a mommy meltdown.  and then a social studies test to study for.  and dinner somewhere in between.
motherhood.
